Museums  
The history of the area involves the Ojibwa and Huron tribes; the Jesuits and French traders who followed; and the English who eventually prevailed. Les Cheneaux hosts two Enjoyable museums operated by the Les Cheneaux Historical Association:  
   
Les Cheneaux Historical Museum  
A log cabin displaying the history of Native American crafts, the frontier life of the early settlers, and the cottage, wooden boat era, and tourist periods since 1884. Discover the geology of the islands and find books and postcards relating to the area's history. Be sure to see the historic quilt on display.  
 
 
 
The Log Cabin and Exhibit Hall are located on Meridian Road, one block south of the M-129 and M-134 intersection in Cedarville. Open Memorial Day through Labor Day.  
 
   
Les Cheneaux Maritime Museum  
Enter a historic boathouse, built in the 1920s. Here, displays of vintage boats, marine artifacts, antique outboard boat motors, and historic photographs of the historic boating heritage of Les Cheneaux.  
 
 
The Maritime Museum is located on the corner of M-134 and Lake Street, 4 blocks east of the M-129/M-134 intersection in Cedarville. Open Memorial Day through Labor Day.
